Follow-up

Gracie saw Dr. Schoenecker this morning for her 1-month follow-up visit. He was very pleased with her progress and said she is ready for full weight bearing on that leg. He was also pleased with the x-ray of her hip and leg taken this morning, so much so that he drew a smiley face on the printout (see below).
He wants her to start transitioning from the wheelchair to the walker and walk as much as she can. Great report today!

Appointments This Week

Gma is doing well at home. Tina is taking such good care of her! Doug brought her over to our house on Sunday for a change of scenery. She was happy not to look at the same 4 walls!
She has been waking each morning at 4AM! Last night was the first night this didn't happen.

Gma has a couple of appointments this week. She is going to get her blood drawn today for testing. On Thursday, she will go for her first physical therapy appointment. Pray for strength!

She's Home!

Grandma finally got to come home late yesterday afternoon. They were kind enough to release her right at the time of RUSH HOUR traffic! So, the ride home was long.

Andy left town to go teach yesterday, so Tina and Kia are with her during the day. Andy will be back Thursday night.

Gma is trying to get comfortable in her new environment. She is experiencing some pain today. Hopefully that will pass soon, or knowing Gma, she will just soon learn to ignore it.

It's Time to Go Home!

We are waiting for the doctor to come by to see Gma. He talked about her going home today. Since she's doing well, we are hopeful this will happen. Gma, Tina & Andy deserve a good night sleep!
Thanks for your prayers, Everyone!

Moving!

Gma moved to a step down room last night. This is a great sign! She was ready earlier, but they didn't have a room available until 2:30 AM!

She is looking much better. They have taken out the catheter and all of the other tubes. She is being a wonderful patient by doing her breathing exercises every hour. Her day will consist of sitting up in the chair and walking the halls. Go Gma!
